About Barbour

What started in 1894 in the small coastal town of South Shields, England has grown into the cultural titan we know today, recognized by Queen Elizabeth II and worn by a different kind of royalty: James Bond. Fortunately for us, Barbour never forgot where they came from. Maybe that’s because they never actually left. Five generations later, this family-run business still operates in South Shields, bringing wit, grit and glamour to its beautifully functional clothing inspired by the British Countryside. They may be best known for their waxed cotton garments, but every piece of clothing they design is built on the same founding principles of quality, attention to detail, durability, and being fit for purpose.
