Story
The definitive vintage GMT-Master with an ultra-ghosted insert
The Rolex reference 1675 is the definitive vintage GMT-Master. Built for Pan Am pilots to track two time zones simultaneously, its red-and-blue bezel—hence the nickname “Pepsi”—mirrored the airline's corporate colors to distinguish day from night. And while Rolex famously produced a handful of white dials exclusively for Pan Am's executives, the matte black dial was the official, standard-issue tool for flight crews. This early 1970s example features the highly sought-after "MK4" dial, known for its larger tritium lume plots that have aged into a deep yellow hue. Paired with the aluminum “Pepsi” bezel that’s now an ultra-faded, pastel-colored "ghost” tone, it is a well-preserved piece of aviation and horological history.
