The 16030 is one of the most versatile watches Rolex has ever produced. This 1986 Datejust balances the tool-ish nature of an engine-turned steel bezel and an outsized footprint due to its flat dial (a contrast to earlier pie-pan models) with the convenience of a quickset date movement and a refined Jubilee bracelet. Originally sold with a standard sunburst blue dial, the watch endured decades of light exposure, which completely altered the paint chemistry and left a rich, organic olive green hue. Housed in a case that looks entirely unpolished, this is a tried-and-true vintage timepiece with an ultra-rare “defect.”
