Story

The classic high-top from Vans, updated with a waterproof construction to protect you from the elements

The Sk8-Hi from Vans is a certified classic. You might’ve had a pair (or 3) at some point in your life, but you probably haven’t had this MTE-2 iteration—and we think you should. They’re built with a waterproof upper for full rain and snow protection, packed with Primaloft insulation that keeps your toes toasty (without retaining moisture), and finished off with a lugged outsole with a grippy rubber compound and flexible lugs. The heritage-inspired looks are plenty functional, too—the hiker-style metal d-rings and speed lace eyelets deliver extra lacing support and a fine-tuned fit. Underneath the hood, an UltraCush™ molded EVA footbed and an OrthoLite® topsheet keep your feet comfy and dry.

About Vans

Vans got its start in 1966 in a small Anaheim, CA factory attached to its first retail store. In that one-stop shop they dreamed up new models, figured out how to build them, and chatted with regulars about where to go next. If you’ve ever sworn by a pair of Vans, you know how the story went from there. From their origins as the first true skate shoe for 1960s pool-trespassing skaters to Spicoli donning checkered Vans in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, they’ve grown into a staple—a quintessential canvas, vulcanized sneaker. To give you the full picture, we stocked our shop with a mix of their newest technical, outdoor footwear, and classics based on those originals they made out of Anaheim in the ‘60s and early ‘70s.
