Rubber Moc Slip On
Story
*The original L.L.Bean icon, reimagined as a slip-on
Since its founding in 1912, L.L.Bean has amassed a long list of iconic products. But before all of those, there was the Bean Boot. Originally referred to as the Maine Hunting Shoe, they were said to be “as light as a pair of moccasins,” a promise that would eventually give way to a low-cut version of the legendary hunting boot. The Rubber Moc takes this design and leans further in on comfort, swapping out the laces for a slip-on construction.

About L.L.Bean
In 1911, Leon Leonwood Bean returned from a hunting trip with cold, damp feet and a revolutionary idea. He decided he’d create his own innovative boot—one that combined durable leather uppers with comfortable (and waterproof) rubber bottoms. Bean called it the Maine Hunting Shoe, which eventually became the famous Bean Boot. Over the next 100 years, the Freeport, Maine-based brand created one iconic product after another. The Field Coat, the Boat and Tote, and the Fisherman Sweater, to name a few. While the story of L.L.Bean is still being written, one thing will never change: the outdoors will always be at the heart of it.
