A vintage Rolex Datejust with a perfect patina

This 1956 Datejust is a fascinating example of early Rolex design, distinguished by its unique bezel, stick markers, and sharp dauphine hands. The dial has aged beautifully to a warm ivory tone, perfectly complemented by an avocado-colored strap.

Over the last 70 years, the rose gold indices have developed a rich patina alongside the dial. While most of the original lume plots have deteriorated—a common occurrence for this era—the hands have been professionally color-matched and stabilized. Notably, this watch features the correct 'Roulette' date wheel, which alternates between red and black for even and odd numbers. At 36mm on a leather strap, it remains a comfortable daily wearer preserved in amazing condition.
