When Flint and Tinder Design Director Nick Kemp set out to create the Vintage Sateen Capsule, he didn't start with a mood board. He went straight to archival 1940s U.S. Army uniforms. What came next was a three-piece collection of fatigue shirts, pants, and shorts made from reverse sateen cotton—the same fabric the U.S. Army adopted over herringbone twill when soldiers needed something more durable and comfortable. The reverse sateen is soft against the skin, yet weather-resistant on the outside with a matte finish. We call it our faithful nod to the uniforms that helped define Americana style, updated for a modern wardrobe and built to only get better with age.

How to Measure
- Chest: Measure straight across from edge to edge, starting 1" below the armhole, multiply by 2
- Shoulder: Measure straight across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam. Again, it’s easiest to measure across the back of the garment
- Body Length: Start at the top of the shoulder where it meets the neck seam, and measure straight down to the hem
- Sleeve Length: Start at the center of the back of the neck, measure straight across to the shoulder seam, and then follow the edge of the garment to the cuff. Pro tip: it’s easiest to measure across the back of the sleeve
