Story

A classic solution to a prehistoric need: protect your hands.

Split kindling. Done. Process Elk Quarters. Done, thankfully. If your to-do list in the outdoors includes any of the previous—even if only once a year—then the Oden Nubuck Glove by Hestra might earn a spot in your gear bag. Cut from supple cow nubuck leather, it’s a tough, unlined work glove that feels like a second skin while protecting your hands from scrapes and knocks. External seams boost grip and comfort, while fire-retardant waxed cotton thread stands up to heat around the campfire. A pull tab at the cuff makes it easy to slip on, and the eyelet lets you clip it to your pack when the work is done.

About Hestra

In 1936, in the mountainside town of Hestra, Sweden, Martin Magnusson established a small glove-making company. By the end of the year, he'd created a veritable assembly line in his farmhouse and was successfully producing Hestra leather gloves for local lumberjacks. Hell, they’ve even been the official glove supplier of the Swedish National Skiing Team since 1975, enjoying a prestige that can only be earned over decades. It’s this impressive legacy that keeps us returning to their craft year after year, with exciting new exclusives and reliable veteran styles hitting our shop when the snow starts falling.
