Story

Our version of a watch Marathon co-developed with the U.S. Air Force

First developed in partnership with Kelly Air Force Base in 1986, the Marathon Pilot’s Navigator is one of the most recognizable military-issue watches ever designed. Its purpose-built asymmetrical case bulges outward on its crown side, a potentially life-saving feature that prevents it from snagging on parachute rigging, gear webbing, or cockpit equipment. To celebrate its longstanding legacy as a reliable tool
for pilots and parachutists, we collaborated with Marathon on a custom version of the Arctic Navigator with a 41mm CeraShell® case, a new, proprietary material made from bio-sourced plastic and ceramic powder. It features the style’s first-ever Arctic dial and a custom orange seconds hand, plus removable spring bars, a radial-mounted tritium tube insert affixed to the bezel pip, and a Huckberry-logo-engraved crown.

Each watch comes with two special strap designs: a green canvas nylon DEFSTAN and a High-Abrasion Neoprene Kevlar (HANK) strap, a new fabric from Marathon made from a material commonly used on naval pontoons and in military body armor. The HANK strap is thin and lightweight, while being moisture-wicking, fire-resistant, cut- and abrasion-resistant, and anti-microbial.
