Comfortable all-day sneakers inspired by old school German Army Trainers
First introduced in the late 1970s, the German Army Trainer (also known as the GAT) was commissioned by the West German military to serve as a standard-issue indoor athletic shoe. They were highly functional, with leather uppers, suede toe-cap overlays, and a durable, shock-absorbing gum rubber sole.
The LUCA Low Pro Sneaker takes cues from the classic GAT but includes modern updates to boost its comfort and further streamline its look. Artisans tend to each pair that passes through our Portuguese factory, handcrafting them in full-grain leathers sourced from Europe’s best tanneries. Just like the original, its sporty silhouette is grounded by a durable rubber outsole with ample traction, making it comfortable for all-day wear.

Located in Portugal, Maximo International is a family-owned factory that spans over three generations.
