Story
*Dreamed up with a technique that dates back to the 1840s *
Never ones to rest on their laurels, Gitman is constantly looking for ways to improve and build upon their already exemplary products. The Dobby Shirt is crafted by running their proprietary cotton/linen blend through a dobby loom, a technique that dates back to the 1840s. The result is a super complex and nuanced weave that stands out from any lookalikes. Elevated enough for a night out and breathable enough to break a sweat at the workbench, the Dobby can be shown off just about anywhere.

About Gitman Vintage
The shirtmaking tradition Max Gitman started in 1932 is still being carried out to this day. Besides the sewing rooms where seasoned shirtmakers cut and sew Gitman’s prized pieces, their HQ is practically a library of rare fabrics and heritage designs going back nearly a century. By poring over this history, Gitman Vintage gets the ideas for each of their small, seasonal collections. Maybe one release is an oxford dye we’ve never seen before, and the next is a sturdy, limited-run flannel—each leaving us wanting to make a couple more long-term investments in our wardrobe.
