Materials
Shantung panama hats are woven from a yarn made by twisting a high-performance paper known as Washi into yarns that imitate the traditional straw used in hat weaving. Washi is lighter and thinner yet stronger than any other paper, and the woven hats that are made from it are subsequently lightweight, breathable, and exceptionally durable.
