Story

A special-edition military field watch, revived for 2026

Inspired by the FAPD 5101 navigator’s watch issued to U.S. Air Force crews around 1970, the Khaki Field Mechanical 36mm features an authentic matte finish, fixed bars, and a protective dust cover. Equipped with an exclusive hand-wound movement and enhanced lume for low-light visibility, it blends historic mil-spec detail with modern precision.

Features

  • Exclusive H-50 Caliber: Hand-winding mechanical movement features an extended 80-hour power reserve, maintaining accurate time even if left unwound for a few days
  • Military Heritage Engraving: Caseback features an exclusive tribute engraving linking the watch directly to its authentic 1970s FAPD 5101 Air Force origins
  • Super-LumiNova® Grade X2: Luminous pigment ensures maximum legibility on the black dial during low-light and nighttime operations
  • Nivachron™ Balance Spring: Advanced alloy construction resists magnetic fields, temperature fluctuations, and shocks to preserve precise timekeeping
  • Field-Ready Protection: Built with a protective dust cover and water resistance up to 100 meters

About

For over 130 years, Hamilton has equipped heroes of all stripes with the timepieces so instrumentally precise, the U.S. Navy’s own testing methods proved inadequate. Hamilton pocket watches accurately timed early American railroads, greatly helping to reduce accidents and earning the title “The Watch of Railroad Accuracy.” They were also relied upon by U.S. soldiers—over the course of both World Wars—to ensure more made it home. In the early days of aviation, Hamilton watches accompanied the first aviator to the North Pole, promised safe passage to the pilots that flew the first flight from California to Hawaii, and kept official time for the first coast-to-coast route from New York to San Francisco. Currently, they grace the wrists of world-renowned Swiss mountain rescue teams.
