Story

Hand-forged ring that gets better with age

Shaped a little like those old-school ID bracelets but with a whole lot more character, Studebaker Metals’ ID Ring is forged by hand using traditional metalsmithing techniques for a distinctly hammered look. The unpolished work patina will continue to develop over time, making it more and more “you” with every wear.

Features

  • Hand-forged in small batches in Pittsburgh, PA
  • Stamped inside with their signature crossed hammers

Materials

  • 100% Brass
  • Uncoated and unpolished work patina will continue to age over time

Sizing

  • Face is approximately 14mm x 8mm (based on size 9 ring)

Care

  • Use gentle dish soap to remove any dirt or grime
  • Restore brushed finish by rubbing with a Scotch Bright pad
  • To store for long periods of time without wearing, keep your piece in a sealed plastic bag to avoid oxygen exposure, which can cause it to darken

About Studebaker Metals

Educated as a metalsmith, trained as a jeweler, and experienced in architectural metalwork, founder Mike Studebaker strives to create work that draws from the traditions of smithing and the objects we interact with daily. Each of Studebaker’s works is completely handmade using traditional tools and techniques; most of the forms you see are created solely with a hammer and anvil. Many pieces are ‘finished like a tool’: minimally polished and left with a work patina to develop over time. All items are made in their Pittsburgh workshop and stamped with the Studebaker Maker’s Mark.
