The Scottish first documented houndstooth in the 1800s. The story goes that shepherds believed the jagged pattern provided protection, as the blending of the colors would create an illusion that the wearer was standing at a further distance. It wasn’t until the 1930s that Houndtooth became fashionable in high society, largely due to Edward VIII, the Prince of Wales, who loved wearing the pattern regularly. Relwen takes a micro houndstooth pattern and updates it into a modern shirt, one that’s breathable and full of stretch—thanks to its airy 140 GSM cotton build.
