Gel-Nunobiki Sneaker
Story
Nature-inspired. Performance-engineered.
A nod to ASICS’ roots and commitment to performance-driven design, the GEL-Nunobiki takes its name from the iconic waterfalls of Kobe, Japan—a natural landmark reflected in the sneaker’s rugged build. ASICS pulled design DNA from the late-2000s-inspired GEL-Kahana 3 and GEL-Target to construct the upper, then layered it with utilitarian grit. Versatile by nature and engineered for movement, this sneaker handles everything from pounding pavement to kicking up dust.

About Asics
Breaking onto the footwear scene back in the 1940s, ASICS’ sneaker-obsessed founder, Kihachiro Onitsuka, hoped to bring a fresh, innovative take to a predominantly Western footwear industry. So he collaborated with coaches, athletes, and scientists from the Research Institute of Sports Science in Kobe, Japan to engineer some of the highest performing trainers the world had ever seen. Almost 80 years later, and they’re still churning out top-of-the-line footwear, worn by world-class athletes and style icons alike.
