Story

Crafted with indigo-dyed, Japanese herringbone twill and drum-tumbled buttons

Inspired by the classic French chore coat, this refined layer brings a utilitarian three-pocket construction, a roomy, work-ready silhouette, and a rounded collar—a hallmark of heirloom chore coats. Crafted by the master artisans at 3sixteen, it’s made from durable cotton herringbone twill woven in Japan. Plus, the fabric is stonewashed for a broken-in, vintage feel and indigo-dyed to achieve a rich color saturation that'll fade and patina according to your unique wear. Drum-tumbled, metal-painted buttons bring together the authentic look of this jacket's French predecessors.

About 3sixteen

Thanks to co-founders Andrew Chen and Johan Lam, 3sixteen stands at the heart of the denim world. The duo's dedication to sourcing materials—especially from Japanese mills—garners high praise in menswear circles year after year. 3sixteen’s attention to quality has continued beyond denim, from soft cotton flannels and naturally dyed polos. We recommend starting with one of their absolutely stellar pairs of denim, but we wouldn’t fret you for grabbing any one of their garments. You can’t go wrong when investing in such a high level of craftsmanship.
