Story

A USA-made modernized frame built off an OG style

Inspired by American Optical's Original Pilot frames—a favorite of U.S. military pilots since 1958—Flynn adds handcrafted modernism to the turn-of-the-century driving goggles. The acetate insert adds a subtle dose of color around the eyes while also functioning as a side shield. The AOLite™ lenses are engineered with a chromatically tuned True-Color™ gray nylon which reduces eye fatigue in bright light conditions and are purpose-built with a scratch-resistant hard coat on top of a smudge-resistant coating. What’s more, they’re lightweight for comfort, and provide 100% UVA/UVB protection.

About American Optical

American Optical has been supplying this country with quality eyewear since before Edison invented the light bulb. Nearly two centuries later and AO is going strong—still designing exceptional sunglasses, and still making them in the USA. Along the way they made fans of the Apollo 11 crew, JFK, and, well…us. We're of the opinion that a brand with that staying power and this amazing lineup is worthy of words like iconic and timeless, but no need to take our word for it. Grab a pair for yourself. You'll see.
