Story

Flint and Tinder’s iconic waxed shell in a warm, hooded layer Introducing the Flannel-Lined Hooded Waxed Hooded Jacket—a hardwearing, made-in-USA coat with ties to blue collar tradition. Just like our renowned Waxed Trucker Jacket, the Hooded Waxed Jacket is made in New Jersey out of the same Martexin 7 oz. sailcloth, lined with the same ultra-soft (and warm) blanket liner, topped with a flannel-lined, element-shielding hood, and given a wax coating to up its weather-resistance. We wear it hood up, zipped, and layered over a sweatshirt to seal in the heat on unusually cold days—or open and over a denim shirt for comfortable transitions from the car to the pool hall.

Materials

Martexin 7 oz. sailcloth, like selvedge denim or finely tanned leather, will only get better with age. It's manufactured in Bridgeton, New Jersey by Fairfield Textiles—a renowned US fabric mill that's been around since 1930. To make the fabric in this jacket, 100% cotton is woven into a strong canvas material called sailcloth, and then gets coated in Martexin Original Wax for weather-resistance and enhanced durability.

Sizing

• The Waxed Hooded Jacket has a traditional trucker fit that hits right at your hip
• Size up if you're planning to wear a mid to heavy-weight layer underneath
• If you have a long torso or are 6'1" or taller, we recommend you try our Tall Fit, available M-4XL and fits true to size
• If the sleeves feel a little longer out of the box, they will mold and crease for personalized fit over time
