Wandering the streets of Oaxaca, you might find yourself sipping mezcal that’s been meticulously perfected over generations. You might discover the work of master Zapotec weavers or the traditional fare of world-renowned chefs. If you’re lucky, you might even have a few local friends show you the ropes. That’s how Wellen did it on their latest trip to Mexico—where they looked to the rich textures, colors, and traditions of Oaxaca when building out their summer ‘22 lineup. The look of this SSBD was inspired by the colors and textures of the streets of Oaxaca and traditional woven blankets from the region. Made from a soft and breezy organic cotton with a touch of hemp for added texture, this shirt is as thoughtfully considered as the perfect sip of mezcal.
