Dean Zip Goat Leather Western Boot
Story
Slim-jean friendly modern cowboy boots
The great thing about cowboy boots is that they never really go out of style. Tecovas has done it once again with this modern take on the Western boot, better known asthe Dean. Built with an inner leg zipper along with a smaller shaft and shorter heel, this boot can dwell in slimmer pants in a way classic boots can’t. The round-toe design, handstitching, and calfskin upper give it that classic boot look, while the butter-soft bovine lining make it just the right fit.

Sizing
Tecovas built custom-made lasts to fit true to U.S. shoe sizes. In other words, you won’t have to size up or size down to find the right fit in Tecovas. Chances are that the size that appears most often in your closet is your true size.
- Standard "D" Width
- 1 ¼” heel
- 8” heel-to-pullstrap height
- 8" shaft opening circumference
- If you can, try your shoes on in the evening when your feet are the largest.
- They should not be too easy to put on at first (you should hear a nice "plop" once your heel falls into place).
- A small amount of heel slippage (up to half an inch) is normal and expected until the sole breaks in. Sole damage makes them ineligible for return!
- Note: Please try on boots on a carpeted surface until you’ve decided to keep them. Sole damage makes them ineligible for return!
Care
Your boots should last for many years with proper care and resoling. Here are some quick care tips:
- Store boots in a dry place with a shoe tree or newspaper inside
- Alternate boot-wearing days to allow boots to properly dry out
- Clean boots with a damp cloth
- Condition boots regularly with a good leather conditioner
- Polish boots as desired using a neutral or color-matching cream
- Find a good cobbler when the boot needs resoling or a new heel (and keep that well-worn leather)
