Story
An iconic design, knitted in France since 1938
The stripes on a Breton shirt were originally designed to help sailors pick out a fellow mariner who had fallen overboard. The stripes have become an iconic French design, worn by everyone from John Wayne to James Dean to Audrey Hepburn to Andy Warhol to Pablo Picasso to — well, you get the idea.
Armor-Lux’s take on the Breton is an ultra-versatile piece that matches with darn near everything in your closet. Upgraded for the summer months, their latest rendition of the Breton uses a breezy, lightweight linen that’s blended with the softest combed cotton that Armor Lux spins, dyes, and combs themselves. Wear it boldly to the lake for a summertime cookout, and pack it along for your vacation travels—this shirt fits neatly in a carry-on and feels incredible in any climate. We humbly advise picking up a couple, because, if our experience is any indicator, one simply won’t be enough.

Howdy! This is Ryan, one of the copywriters for Huckberry. To ensure y’all are getting the best fit for these killer new Armor-Lux products, I tried ‘em on so I could give you a hands-on sizing recommendation. For starters, I’m 6’0” and weigh 175 lbs, and if you spotted me walking down the street, you’d probably say I have a lean, slightly athletic build. The medium fit me perfectly through the chest, shoulders, and neck, while the waist line rested about an inch below the entry seam to the pockets on my jeans. Typically, I wear a medium for Patagonia and lululemon t-shirts, and found that though this piece has a little more of an athletic or slim cut, it still fits perfectly. Hope this helps!
