Story
Designed like the 215 tee, now in a cropped silhouette
It can be easy to get lost in the Merz b. model numbers, but there’s just three to memorize. The 215 is your structured, boxy cut shirt that appears on Carmy in The Bear. Then, you have the 2M15, an alternative to the 215 that’s slightly more relaxed and features side seams to better move with your body’s shape (think less structured, but still sturdy). Last is the 2M15C (pictured above): a straight fit with side seams, featuring a military-style crop.
The cropped cut, not to be confused with a “crop-top”, is a practical silhouette that will elongate the legs and broaden the shoulders. Wear it layered with a chore coat and chinos, or standalone with a vintage pair of denim. Once you get your hands on this tee, it’ll become a fast favorite in your wardrobe.

Pro tip: it’s easiest to measure across the back of the sleeve

About Merz b. Schwanen
Of all the clothing brands out there, perhaps none takes the adage “quality over quantity” more to heart than Merz b. Schwanen. Founded in 1911 by Balthazar Merz, the brand was brought back to life decades later when the future founders discovered a 90-year-old henley shirt at a Berlin flea market. They were moved by the quality of the garment to revitalize the brand and soon began a long process of restoring rare Loopwheeler machines (originally built between 1889 and 1969) in a workshop in the Swabian Alps of Germany. Each machine is dedicated to a particular size, and it takes an hour to knit enough fabric, row by row, for a single shirt. The result is a garment in timeless style crafted from soft organic cotton that just might last you 100 years.
