Story

Classic two-eye chukka made in the USA

The chukka is one of the most versatile boots a man can own, and Alden pairs its clean, minimal silhouette with the rugged character of Dark Brown Kudu, a richly oiled leather from the African greater kudu antelope that is soft, supple, and low-maintenance. A layer of cork adds cushioning and insulation, while a triple-ribbed tempered steel shank provides the support and shape needed for all-day wear. Artisans at Alden’s Middleborough workshop finish the boot with a mini lug rubber outsole that offers just enough traction without adding bulk.

About Alden

Founded in 1884 by Charles H. Alden in Middleborough, Massachusetts, Alden has spent well over 140 years making the finest leather footwear in the United States. They’re renowned for using premium leathers from the world’s best tanneries—often from the famous Horween Leather Company in Chicago, where it's long been rumored that Alden gets first pick of the maker’s iconic shell cordovan. The same attention to craft carries over to Alden’s Middleborough workshop, where skilled artisans—some second- and third-generation—hand-finish each pair, a testament to the brand's status as one of New England's longest-surviving shoemakers.
