We'd always thought of cashmere as the kinda thing reserved for guys with last names like Rockefeller. So to even the playing field, we searched far and wide for a purveyor that could hook guys like us up with the legendarily soft fabric without putting our wallets in a chokehold. And that's how Wills was born. In the wild terrain of Mongolia, Zalla Jinst white goats are meticulously hand-combed by nomadic herders like they've traditionally done for 2000 years, yielding the superfine cashmere fibers that make these luxurious sweaters softer than a whisper in a library.

About the Cashmere

Mongolia is home to extremely harsh climates, terrain, and insanely high altitudes, which is why the Zalaa Jinst white goat is regarded as one of the toughest and most resilient animals on the planet. In order to survive the Mongolian outback, these goats grow long, fine fibers that protect them from the elements—the same fibers that make up the top-tier cashmere yarns for Wills sweaters. Since shearing goats can be stressful for the animals, the Mongolian herders hand comb each goat to extract the fibers. Even though it takes more time and effort to hand comb each goat, the herders have over 2,000 years of nomadic herding tradition to uphold, and this old-school approach is still the best thing for the goats and for the fibers that exist in Wills sweaters.
