Story

French-made hiking boots built to stand up to any terrain

Originally developed in the 1930s as a high-altitude approach shoe for mountaineers, the Avoriaz Hiking Boot is one of the most iconic styles in the Paraboot collection. Built to the same technical codes as the original by Galibier—Paraboot’s more outdoors-focused counterpart—the shoes feature a reinforced, padded collar for comfort and a bellows tongue that keeps out water, snow, and debris. They’re designed to be resoled and built to be worn from the most demanding terrain to the bustling mountain town below.

Features

  • Bellows tongue protects the foot from water, snow, and debris
  • Norwegian welt construction for easy resoling
  • Made in France

About

Founded in 1908 by Rémy Richard, Paraboot has been crafting shoes that blend rugged durability with timeless style. The brand name comes from the Brazilian port of Para, where Richard originally sourced latex to make their famous rubber soles. Today, the family-run brand is in its fourth generation, still operating in its home country of France.
