The 16800 reference showcases the rugged tool-watch nature of the Submariner and incorporates vintage elements, such as tritium luminous markers that age and patina over time, rather than modern luminova counterparts. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe 1980s were a turning point for Rolex as manufacturing these Subs still involved aluminum inserts and tritium dials that would age over time.
